This is a very detailed piece.I love the postion of the Horse and Rider. I feel like I'm right in front of them and can almost see what the horse has turned its head to look at. I know it been said before, but if some things were just a tad darker it would stand out more. I would also add just a bit of details in the background like some shadows or other objects or horses. Some shading would help too. Otherwise your anatomy is on point along with your perspective and use of space. Keep up the good work!
For start, I think this is a fantastic picture. The detail is stunning and the artist left nothing out. The horse is in a natural position that matches what he is doing and his eyes are bright and looking in a visible direction.
Maybe just making everything a tad darker would have allowed it to stand out more from the white background. Some of the highlights and light zones don't stand out very well and sort of blend with the paper. The horse's blaze, for example, kind of merges with the white background. This is the same for the rider's right sleeve.
The detail is amazing. Each of the horse's muscles and veins are in the right place and in perfect proportion. You can clearly see how realistic the horse is and the strokes blend perfectly, giving him the hair effect.
The shadowing and highlighting is perfect. A tone darker on the whole images, like I said before, would have helped the horse to stand out more but I have nothing bad to say about this picture. It is stunning!! Keep up the good work!
Beautiful drawing, lovely even smooth appearance, which preferably I would have loved if it was a lot darker, but thats just me, so take no notice of my preference its a very beautiful piece, thank you, Mike.
Hi there, sorry I forgot you were busy with judging the comp, the horse and rider are beautifully done, didn't realize it might have been your scanner, both are very well drawn with lots of extremely nice detail, I dread doing horses they are notoriously hard to get all features right, but yours was perfect, thank you, Mike.
